A relaxed two-part workshop where we’ll draw from the museum and the RSA200 Moving Image Programme in the Art Gallery, then turn our sketches into simple looping GIFs. Age 16+
Tuesday 11 August, 1:30 - 4pm
Session one is about looking closely, sketching, and building confidence through a gentle guided approach.
Wednesday 12 August, 1:30 - 4pm
Session two is about planning and making seamless loops, and we’ll end with a group screening of everyone’s finished GIFs. No prior experience needed. All tools and guidance are provided and it’s designed to be welcoming for beginners.
Alice Prentice is the founder-director of Isle of Riso, a community-led creative studio and Risograph print studio in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Through printing services, participatory workshops, exhibitions and social creative events, they help artists, organisations and first-timers bring ideas to life in a way that feels welcoming, playful and collaborative. Isle of Riso exists to remove barriers and make creativity feel affordable, understandable and non-intimidating, with an emphasis on learning by doing rather than perfect outcomes. Rooted in community, care and a sustainable pace, Alice creates consistent spaces for people to reconnect with creativity and with each other.
