A Night of Cuban Guitar (Macphail Centre)

The Bridge is Cuba’s most internationally acclaimed guitar duo.  The Macphail Centre is delighted to be welcoming them to Ullapool for this very special gig.

With their musical empathy, Eduardo Martín and Ahmed Dickinson use their different ages and passions to create a diverse and thrilling performance that shows off the huge range of Caribbean and Cuban musical heritage. Martín and Dickinson love the guitar for its power to convey all the melodic and rhythmic intricacies of South America's cultural diversity.

This concert will showcase the most alluring works for two guitars by Grammy nominee composer Eduardo Martín. Uplifting as well as soothing and spiritual, the concert draws on classical and rock styles, while celebrating the influence of son montunos, old Yoruba chants, feel-good rumbas, funk-boleros, new age tunes and cinematic pieces alongside Cuban tumbaos with slap bass.
