Ash Rise : film screening
Everyone is welcome to join us for this free screening of the Ash Rise film at the Playhouse Cinema in Eden Court from 4-5:30pm.
The Ash Rise documentary film will tell the story of this beautiful tree, its historic and contemporary brilliance as a material and the challenges of ash die-back. Furniture makers are privileged to experience the sounds, smells and textures of the workshop; the processes that realise the potential in timber are fleeting but beautiful in their own right. The film features Tom Addy, Angus and Lorna Ross, Dr. Helen Mackay OBE, Alice Broome and Andrew Macqueen.
There will be a Q&A with members of The Scottish Furniture Makers Association after the film.
Ash Rise has been commissioned by The Scottish Furniture Makers Association (SFMA) and is kindly supported by Scottish Forestry and Creative Scotland.
Afterwards stroll across the River Ness and to the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery for a refreshment at the exhibition preview from 6-8pm.
