Pictish Symbols Zine Workshop
Pictish Symbols Zine Workshop
Join zinester Iona Gibson for a creative workshop exploring the mysterious beauty of Pictish symbol stones, taking inspiration from Inverness Museum’s unique collection.
The Wolf Stone has represented the museum’s logo for decades, and features on the signage outside the building as well as on merchandise in the gift shop.
However, there are other symbols that have fascinated historians and artists alike for generations – what do these carvings mean to you?
In collaboration with the Highland Zine Bothy, we’ll delve into the world of the Picts: their powerful animal motifs, geometric designs, and the visual language they left behind.
Inspired by these iconic ancient symbols, you'll have the opportunity to create your own handmade mini zine that explores hidden meanings lost to time, or perhaps brings new meanings to light.
