The Twa Roberts is a grand wee show where two talented lassies, Pauline and Penni, bring Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, and the lesser known Robert Tannahill into the modern world.

It’s packed wi’ music, a bit o’ banter, and the big question—how would these two Roberts fare in today’s dating scene?

Expect some original bangers alongside the classic tunes o’ Burns and Tannahill, as the lassies explore their very different attitudes tae love and romance. It’s no just a sing-song—there’s plenty o’ laughs and a wee bit o’ deep thinkin’ about how folk’s views on love and women have changed (or not!) over time.

The magic’s created by Pauline Vallance and Penni Mclaren Walker, two fantastic singer-songwriters who ken their way around a good tune and a guid story. 

Pauline’s a dab hand on the clarsach and a fine folk singer, wi’ a soft spot for Tannahill’s poetry and plenty experience bringing history tae life on stage. Penni’s a guitar wizard wi’ a voice like the sea—she’s played all o’er the UK and beyond, and she’s got a knack for turning poetry into pure musical gold. Between them, they’ve got the talent, the chat, and the charm to make this show a right treat!

This is history with a twist—nae dusty old lectures here, just two cracking musicians bringing the Roberts back tae life in the here and now. It’s a guid mix o’ fun and food for thought, reminding us that love, romance, and heartbreak are as old as poetry itself.
